One of the phenomenons in this world that best demonstrates how unlike God, and in fact how utterly opposite of God, man truly is, is this: When man says “God is coming”, or “The Lord will strike you down”, when he taunts God saying, “Why doesn’t he do this?”, or “If he existed, he wouldn’t let that happen”, or, “he is not just, or he would do this”, it is in that exact moment that God stills his hand and lets His creation take its own course. And when man says, “He will do nothing”, or “He is not watching”, when he denies His existence and despises His name, or when he says, “peace, peace” or “let us come together” or “God is not needed”, this is the sign, this is the moment, when God will unleash His mighty and awesome hand upon this world.

What if it happened this way, not because God is constantly trying to make man out to be wrong, but because man is so imperfect in his manner of thinking, that it is only inevitable that every thought that proceeds from his heart should be entirely and consistently out of sync with the providence of a perfect creator?

It is simple: Either God is always wrong or we are always wrong. What if we are always wrong? Then we would surely conclude that we are right, as we inevitably do and have done consistently throughout our history, for to do otherwise would be right, and so it would defy our very nature.

How would we escape such a wretched condition? How could we ever see beyond this shroud of darkness? The immeasurable fear, indeed the total powerlessness, to answer this dilemma, would blind mankind even more from God’s true nature and goodness, and drive him still further from His merciful and loving hand.
