I’m entirely unimpressed by the direction that barbeque chips have taken over the past fifteen years. All these fancy new strains of barbeque — mesquite, hickory, bulls-eye — they don’t thrill me in the least. When I was a kid, my favorite barbeque chip was Guy’s. Nothing fancy; just a good, rich flavor, more than you could handle sometimes. I think they went out of business for a while; now they don’t have any distributions in my area.

I thought that maybe Wise chips might be similar because the name rhymed, but I was wrong.

Until Guy’s makes its way to North Carolina, Snyder of Berlin is a cheap chip that comes remotely close to the untainted flavor that I love.

I agree, Guy’s bbq chips were the only bbq chips that i would ever eat. They stopped selling them in my area and i cannot find any place that sells them. I wish i could find a distribution company and just buy them in bulk from them. Well, needless to say i havent fould that company.
